On OCTOBER 16, Barbara Pelman will be reading at the Black Stilt, #103 – 1633 Hillside Avenue, Victoria. She will read poems from One Stone and Borrowed Rooms as well as new poems. CIVA and TRAS are hosting a book launch for Tibetans in Exile: The Dalai Lama and the Woodcocks by Alan Twigg. The event will take place on Sunday October 18, 2009, from 7:30–9:30 pm at the VANCOUVER RACQUETS CLUB LOUNGE at 4867 Ontario St., Vancouver (Ontario and 33rd — for parking directions, see below).
Light refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available.
This evening will include a special screening of George Woodcock: The Anarchist of Cherry Street, a short film made by Alan Twigg for CBC in 1994.
