RONSDALE PRESS, founded
in 1988, is a
literary publishing house, based in Vancouver, and
dedicated to publishing books from across Canada, books that
give Canadians new insights into themselves and their
country. Ronsdale publishes fiction, poetry, regional
history, biography and autobiography, books of ideas about
Canada, as well as children's books. At present, Ronsdale
has some 140 books in print. In general, the press looks
for thoughtful works that reveal
the
author
has read
deeply in contemporary and earlier literature and is working
to create a text with innovative combinations of form and
content that can bring genuinely new insights. Ronsdale
encourages new and emerging writers while finding space for
the developments of more established authors. Given the
changing face of Canada today, Ronsdale feels it
particularly important not to neglect the work of
multicultural writers. Of special interest are
"parallel text" books in two languages.
Ronsdale Press is
represented in sales across Canada and in the USA by the
Literary Press Group, with sales representatives in all
regions. Distribution is
through LitDistCo (Literary Distribution
Collective). In the UK and Europe, we are represented
by Gazelle Book Services.
