Munro, John

The author and editor of 17 books, including the multi-volume, best-selling memoirs of two Canadian Prime Ministers (Diefenbaker and Pearson) and Volume six of Documents on Canadian External Relations (which first exposed the shocking level of official antisemitism in Canada’s pre-World War II immigration policy), independent scholar John Munro is one of Canada’s more accomplished, senior non-fiction writers and historians.

In reconstructing the Holocaust experiences of Michel Mielnicki, Munro again has succeeded in capturing the “voice and vision” of a fellow human being caught in the most extraordinary of historical circumstances.
