Mireille Perron was born in Montreal, Quebec. Since 1982, her installations have appeared in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Her work explores connections between gender, culture, visual arts, science and medicine. She has written and published critical essays on a variety of subjects related to representation.

Recent examples of the range of her work include The Feminist Laboratory of Pataphysics (The New Gallery, 2007), an installation at the crossroads of medical, sensual and critical imagery, and an essay titled “Feminists, Colporteu(r)ses and Pataphysicien(n)es,” published in the anthology Culture of Community (MAWA, 2004). Perron lives and works in Calgary, Alberta, where she teaches at the Alberta College of Art & Design.
