Dunaway, Dan Paxton
Dan Paxton Dunaway grew up on a cattle ranch in the Cariboo country of British Columbia. He and his wife Betty homesteaded in the remote Bella Coola Valley, where they published a community newspaper. The couple later moved to Victoria with their son and daughter where Dan wrote his first novel, The Seahorse Keeper. Dan’s second novel, Heart Like a Wing, derives from a theme common to many of his stories: re-inventing oneself. To get a feel for the novel’s location, he travelled across Canada to northern Saskatchewan, where he found a float-plane pilot to fly him over the “bush country.” In recent years, Dan has re-invented himself as a triathlete and trail runner. He has competed in over fifty triathlons, including three Ironman Canada races. He continues to write and train where he lives near Sidney, British Columbia. Visit his website at danpaxton.ca.
