Aquin, Hubert

Hubert Aquin (1929–1977) and his writings now stand as an emblem of Québec in transition. His personal situations and his political engagements find expression in resonant literary works where theoretical formal concerns unite with psychic and social breakdowns. In 2003 his novel Next Episode was selected as book of the year for CBC’s Canada Reads.
