Baxter, Jean Rae

Following her career as a secondary school English teacher in the Kingston area, Jean returned to her hometown, Hamilton, and began to write in earnest. Her first collection of short stories, A Twist of Malice, appeared in 2005. Ronsdale Press published her Y/A historical novel The Way Lies North in 2007. Her literary mystery novel, Looking for Cardenio, was released in 2008. She is presently completing a sequel to The Way Lies North and working on a second collection of short stories. As one of the organizers of the LiT LiVe Reading Series, and a member of the Arts Hamilton Literary Advisory Committee, she is an active member of Hamilton’s writing community.
