Ed Butts’ books, for both adult and young readers, includes titles that have been nominated for the Arthur Ellis Award, the Red Maple Award and the Hackmatack Award. His book Wartime: The First World War in a Canadian Town won the Ontario Historical Society’s J.J. Talman Award. This Game of War was inspired by the author’s research into the stories behind the names on the cenotaph in his hometown of Guelph, Ontario, and his annual attendance at the city’s Remembrance Day ceremonies.
